This is a place in memory of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam of Bangladesh. This Eight Sheds House is located at MissionPara of Karpasdanga union under Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district. Locally it is known as Atchala Ghor. The house has been named as Atchala because it has eight roofs like rural Bengal. The room is a house made of chan tree (one kind of tree of Poales Order).
It is known that in 1926, the poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam, came to the house with the invitation of the expatriate Mahim Government of Calcutta, the children of this Mission Para and stayed here for two months. This house is built by the local leader of Swadeshi and Congress, Mr. Harsharpriya Biswas. He was a teacher in profession. During that time the house was the main center for political, literary and cultural activities. While staying in this house, the poet also participated in political meetings with the local leaders.
Note that Kazi Nazrul Islam was born on 24 May 1899 in Churulia village of Burdwan district of West Bengal. In both places of West Bengal and Bangladesh, his poems are equally well received. Because of his rebellious view of poetry, he is also known as a rebel poet. The subject of his poetry was a protest against human torture and social injustice and exploitation of people. This great poet died in 1976.
